Never again will you have a problem getting around a bundle of cables or a bus bar with a typical split-core current transformer. The solution is here with the Spinlab nonferrous flexible core AC current probe. This unit allows you to easily and safely take current measurements for ratio tests. Simply plug it into the Bird Dog Plus and take your measurements like you would with any other probe. The unit does not have a metal core and is electrically isolated to protect you.

Accurate and reliable performance
data is difficult to acquire safely, particularly in the hostile high voltage
environment encountered in utility distribution systems, including CT rated
primary metering sites. Quite often testing is not done, allowing installation
error, environmental damage, magnetization and manufacturing defects to
go undetected. This can result in serious metering deficiencies --- problems
that can add up to critical kilowatt-hour losses to the utility.
The Retriever II
Fiber Optic High Voltage Current Probe safely interfaces to the Spinlab 5000 Bird Dog Plus
Analyzer to provide the
essential current measurements cost conscious utilities need today. With the
Retriever II, it is now possible to make in-service ratio, wiring, and burden
tests on primary metering CT's.

Provides both the
current and voltage test points for testing installations using Form 3S and 4S
Meters. Current test points are self shorting while voltage test points utilize
banana jacks and are fused. Normally used on installations where no test switches are
installed.
600-MB2 Plug in Meter Base (Form 5S)
Provides both the
current and voltage test points for testing installations using Form 5S Meters.
Current test points are self shorting while voltage test points utilize banana
jacks and are fused. Normally used on installations where no test switches are installed.

The Mini-Probe is a clothespin sized and shaped instrument transformer for measuring the secondary current when there is no test switch. When using the Mini-Probe a burden test can not be performed since the Bird Dog Plus is not in the secondary circuit.

The Carrying Case has been designed to hold the complete 5000 Series Flexible Coil Kit. The case opens from the top, so there is no need to remove the Bird Dog Plus while testing. There is a flap on the bottom of the case for easy port access while downloading information to your PC or for charging the battery and an interior pouch for the User's Manual and other note papers.
